MISALIGNED (2022)
'Misaligned' a group exhibition held at
The Darkroom, by three graduate artists
in residence.
The conception of the exhibition came about
from similar narratives of estrangement and
isolation from our surrounding environments.
The process of the creation of work became
a way in which we could find a sense of
alignment again.

'unfolds and enfolds, again' (2022) 63 x 29.7cm
Throughout the residency, I gathered images taken on multiple walks within the area I live and call home. On these wanders, I explore conflicting emotions which arise in the landscape. Feeling both at home and simultaneously estranged within a small grasp of space, I look to my surrounding environment for elements that are familiar and grounding.
.
Weeds, mosses and wildflowers reach out from the rockface and concrete walls that line both the M50 and my estate.
Offering a grasp of life as they survive amongst obtrusive architecture.
